Bank of America Cardholders Get Free Museum Admission This Weekend
Summer may be “over” now that the long Labor Day weekend has passed, but that doesn’t mean you have to hold off on fun weekend excursions until the spring. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you may be able to visit a nearby museum for free. Bank of America cardholders can get into museums and cultural sites for free during the first full weekend of every month.
All you need to do is show up with your Bank of America or Merrill credit or debit card and a photo ID to receive free general admission. The downside: You only get one free admission per cardholder, so you’ll have to pay for anyone in your group that doesn’t have their own Bank of America card. If you’re into visiting museums solo, that rule won’t faze you one bit. But if you want to go with a friend, you might choose to split the cost of their ticket and essentially each go for half price. If you want to take your child, kids’ admission is typically at least a few dollars less than the price for adults.
More than 225 museums are included in Bank of America’s program, so you’re bound to find a spot on the list you haven’t visited or have been wanting to check out again. This month, you even have an extra chance to get in for free: September 21 is Museum Day, the annual event hosted by Smithsonian Magazine that offers free admission to more than 1,600 museums, galleries, and cultural sites across the country.
